Ferry service moving to Leamington for remainder of 2014 season

All ferry service will operate from the LEAMINGTON, ON terminal effective 2pm November 26, 2014 for the remainder of the ferry service season. The Kingsville terminal is now closed.

Severe weather over the last two weeks has rapidly and significantly changed the underwater contour of the entry to the Kingsville harbour, and has resulted in a narrowing of the navigable channel. Continued operation from this port will compromise ferry service safety.

We apologize for any inconvenience this late season shift to Leamington may cause our customers, but safety of operation must remain the number one priority.

UPDATED - MV Jiimaan sailing season extended to Dec. 4-5, 2014

November weather has not been kind to ferry service on Lake Erie, and has resulted in numerous ferry cancellations. Jiimaan will therefore begin a 3 trip/day operating schedule on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 and will continue operating through December 4th or 5th, the final crossing date and time to be determined by December 1.

MV Pelee Islander will pick up the service after Jiimaan stops operating and will finish the season on a 2 trip/day schedule until Monday, December 8th, 2014.

Please note that ferry service is entirely dependent on cooperative weather. Strong wind, low water levels, early ice formation on the lake, and cold temperatures that create icing spray conditions on the ships or on the docks will create hazardous conditions for passengers, vessels and crews. When we cancel ferry service as a result of weather conditions, we consider many factors, some of which may not be obvious to the ferry service users. Cancellation decisions are made to ensure the safety of our passengers, crew and the ships. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding.

Pelee Islander's last trip will be the 7am departure from Pelee Island on Monday, December 8th.

Winter Air Service will begin with a 4pm departure from Windsor and a 4:40pm departure from Pelee Island on Monday, December 8th.
