Island residents are following Provincial and Public Health recommendations to stay at home as much as possible this winter to reduce the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Fewer passengers are flying to and from the Island, and cargo movements have doubled as Island residents are doing less in-person shopping, having the goods they need flown to the Island instead.
In support of the evolving transportation needs of Pelee Island residents during the Covid-19 pandemic, the following changes have been made to the Winter 2021 Pelee Island Air Service flight schedule:
Effective Sunday, January 24, 2021, the Sunday afternoon flights departing Windsor at 3:50pm and Pelee Island at 4:40pm have been cancelled for the remainder of the season.
Effective Thursday, January 28, 2021 a second weekly cargo flight has been added to the schedule.
Cargo flights will operate on Tuesday and Thursday departing Windsor at 2pm.
Passengers are reminded that health screening measures are in place in accordance with Transport Canada Interim Order regulations.
