On May 2nd, 2024, the Iconic Chi-Cheemaun Sailed Back to Tobermory for the Annual Spring Repositioning Cruise

Chi-Cheemaun - Travel In Good Spirits
Last week, on May 2nd, the iconic Chi-Cheemaun sailed back to Tobermory for her 50th sailing season. Thank you to all who joined us for our SOLD-OUT Annual Spring Repositioning Cruise.
The weather was absolutely perfect as we departed Owen Sound Harbour and made the 4 ½ hour trip to Tobermory, passing Neyaashiinigmiing and sounding the horn as a traditional salute.
The Chi-Cheemaun means Big Canoe in Ojibway and was named by Donald Keeshig from Neyaashingimiing. He entered this name in a province-wide ferry naming contest held in 1974 and won.
With daily round trips between Tobermory and Manitoulin Island from May 3 to October 20, there is no better time to celebrate than the MS Chi-Cheemaun’s Golden Anniversary. Take a cruise on the MS Chi-Cheemaun this season and discover the beauty of sailing.
