COVID-19 2022 Updates

MS Chi-Cheemaun Ferry Service

MS Chi-Cheemaun continues to operate under the conditions of Transport Canada’s Interim Order No. 3 Respecting Passenger Vessel Restrictions Due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). 

Provincial mask requirements have been lifted in most public setting including public transit. As of June 11th passengers onboard our vessels will be permitted to make their own decision to wear a face mask as the facemak mandate has been lifted in all spaces onboard our vessels. OSTC will continue with extra sanitary precautions to provide clean, safe and enjoyable travel for our passengers. Ontario’s guidance for public transit agencies.

Travellers are encouraged to understand all reopening rules and restrictions that may be in place from origin through destination, as these may vary in each community and region.

MS Chi-Cheemaun COVID-19 mitigation measures:

  1. No capacity restrictions. May carry 100% of vessel’s registered capacity limit.
  2. NO facemask requirements
  3. Proof of vaccination not required for passengers.
  4. Food & Beverage services will resume
  5. Self-screening prior to travel.
  • Do you have a fever and a cough? 
  • Do you have a fever and breathing difficulty? 
  • Have you been refused boarding in the past 14 days due to a medical reason related to COVID-19? 
  • Are you the subject of a provincial/territorial or local public health order? 
  • Are you in possession of a face mask that covers your mouth and nose, and do you agree to wear this covering for the duration of the crossing? 
  • Passengers will also be required to declare any out-of-country travel made in the
    preceding 14 days.
