National Indigenous Peoples Day:
- Saturday, June 21, 2025
Location:
- Selling merchandise directly onboard the Chi-Cheemaun or contact us to provide items for our onboard gift shop with the potential to sell during our entire sailing season.
Region:
- Local Indigenous Arts & Crafts Vendors from Neyaashiinigmiing, Saugeen, Bruce Peninsula, Grey-Bruce County, and Manitoulin Island.
Example of items that are permitted:
- Arts, crafts, collectible items, ribbon skirts, moccasins, earrings, dreamcatchers, etc.
Items not permitted:
- Cannabis, tobacco, and alcohol.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Free walk-on passage for First Nation Individuals on June 21st:
- In recognition of this day, Owen Sound Transportation Company is offering First Nation individuals free passage onboard the Chi-Cheemaun on June 21st.
- Please note:
- Certificate of Indian Status must be provided upon check-in.
- Passage is only free for that individual boarding.
Parking at Terminal:
- Please note Indigenous Arts and Crafts Vendors registered for this event may park for free.
- Otherwise, parking is $10 daily at terminals.
Vehicle Fares
- All vehicles travelling onboard (including Indigenous Arts and Craft Vendors vehicles) will be charged.
- Please note, passengers and vendors must vacate the vehicle deck during passage and are not permitted to visit car for any reason.
