In the fall of 2013, OSTC partnered with participating hotels/motels/resorts and B&B’s on Manitoulin Island to provide travellers with a 10% discount on their ferry fare PLUS a $5.00 discount on their accommodations on the Island.

Beginning in 2013, OSTC has sponsored and partnered with the Georgian Bay Folk Society to attract talented artists to the ferry to perform onboard and create a memorable experience for all passengers. OSTC is excited to expand on this initiative and looks forward to having some great artists perform on the ferry for many seasons to come!

WIOT is a digital magazine that celebrates outstanding Indigenous voices from across the country. All content is produced by Indigenous community members, who are artists, activists, writers, filmmakers, and cultural Knowledge Keepers. WIOT is a response to the growing wave of consciousness towards Indigenous voices across the country. Our strength is rooted in community, and we’re all contributing to it in our own way.
Each year, the Owen Sound Transportation Company Limited (OSTC) selects two local not-for-profit organizations to be the sponsored for the Spring and Fall repositioning cruises. The organizations receive a portion of the ticket sales for the cruise and are able to fundraise onboard through raffles and 50/50 draws.
For more than 10 years, OSTC has been a major sponsor of the Blue Water District Science and Technology Jr. And Sr. Fairs, providing the Chi-Cheemaun as the off-site educational venue for participating students on judging day.
Play for Passage
This program offers complimentary or reduced fare travel for approved professional musicians in return for performing on board the MS Chi-Cheemaun. The program is available to solo performers or groups who are travelling to/ from festivals, events & other paying performances. Assessment is based on relevance to our product and passengers. All requests must be made at least four (4) weeks prior to the requested departure date. The Play for Passage program will be limited to no more than 2 crossings for each performer.
